A study conducted with Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health and the Obesity Research Center found that people between the ages of thirty-two and fifty-nine who sleep four hours or less per night are 73 percent more likely to be obese than those who sleep between seven and nine hours per night. Those who get five hours of sleep a night are 50 percent more likely to be obese than those who get seven to nine hours. And those who get six hours per night are 23 percent more likely to be obese.
